Real! Live! Conversations!

(Background: I have known Abby for 18 years; we've been best friends for more than 13. She married a wonderful man on Satuday night. This conversation took place at the end of the rehearsal dinner. There was wine.)

Me: Dave, are you the oldest in your family?

Dave: Yes.

Abby: You and Justin are the oldest too, right?

Me: Hi, have we met? I'm an only child.

Yeah...I don't know. Sorry about that.
There was wine. There was a horrible horrible wedding diet which made my brain shrink.
Those are not very good excuses. Who knows what goes on in head?
