Pretty little potholders

A few weeks back, I mentioned that Cathy cajoled me into joining the 2010 Potholder Swap. I finished my potholders well ahead of time, but I was lazy about taking pictures, so they didn't actually go into the mail until right before we left for our trip.

The more I craft, the more I find myself gravitating towards different tones of the same general color. I'm all about purple this year, so I decided to go with four different colors of purple ranging from deep violet to a light gray-lilac.

Fronts

This motif is from Edie Eckman's Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs. I was going for a flower look, and I think it worked.

BacksThe backs are just a simple double-crochet, and then I single-crocheted the two sides together for a doubly-thick potholder. Despite the fact that I had to use cotton, I really enjoyed making these and would do it again. And I'm really looking forward to getting my five swapped potholders in the mail.
