Making new friends

This dog has a lot of toys.

There's Jane, Buddy, Sassy, Dale...what's that green thing in the back?

He's climbing over everyone...

Yeah, that's a robot.

I made this little guy for Paul. Paul loves/hates robots, and nothing says "Thank you for allowing us to sleep in your living room with 10 tons of luggage" like a robot.

The pattern is from Jess Hutchinson. I'm really glad I looked at its Ravelry page first - there were a lot of complaints about the fiddliness of sewing each piece together. I started this the day before we left, so I had no time for that. I knit him completely in the round, starting with two separate legs and then casting on stitches in between the legs to make the body. I really only had to seam his shoulders, crotch, and head, and then sew on his arms.

I gave him a little black heart, just like his soul. But mostly I love his safety eyes.

THANK YOU! (To be clear, readers, she mean's the robot's soul, not mine.)

I must also thank you, because this reminds me of the time in Cross-Cultural Journalism when they told us to bring in an advertisement that illustrated diversity, and Paul brought in an ad with a robot in it. Anything that reminds me of that is awesome.
