Is anyone else out there their own worst enemy? I have been paranoid for the past five days, convinced everyone hates me and that there's a plot to make my life a living hell. HI, IT WORKED. I think I am now just coming down from the paranoia. Zoloft: It doesn't fix crazy!
I was a crazy, crazy knitter this weekend. So crazy that my hand really hurt yesterday. But we have a lot of cuteness to show for it.

Is this or is this not the cutest sweater you have ever seen? This is another Bouton d'Or sweater, and I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore their patterns. Well, the actual patterns are somewhat cryptic and require base knitting skills. But these are just the cutest little clothes I've ever seen.

I used Baby Ull, and yes, that's two rows per stripe. I didn't cut at the end of each row, though - I just carried the yarns up the side. I'm glad there were only six colors. When I got to the armholes, though, I did have to cut because there was just too much decreased space to carry the yarn. Baby Ull is great - it's a little splitty if you have to rip out your work and reknit it, but it is so, so soft after you wash it.
The little hood is my favorite part. Instead of ribbing the v-neck, I did an applied i-cord and used that for the cords on the hood, too. (There were supposed to be these huge honking acorns on the ends of twisted yarn - it was a bit much.)
I am most proud of the side seams. Look:
I considered going against the pattern and knitting it in the round, but I thought rounds of 400 stitches on size 2 needles was not going to be good for my health. I knew all along that it would be a bitch to match up those rows, but I think I did a pretty good job. I love me some mattress stitch.
Another FO to share tomorrow and...could it be...I have actually completed the second hand of the Nordic Mittens? And all I have left to do is weave in the ends on that second mitten and knit the thumbs of both? And maybe the second mitten is 1/3" bigger than the first? That's what happens when it takes you two and a half years to knit a pair of mittens.
FOs,
bouton d'or

That sweater? May be the most adorable bit of baby clothing I have ever seen. And I have seen my share of adorable baby clothing.
